Theo Mackaay (1950, Utrecht)receiving his training in Utrecht to become a sculptor. After that he studied from 1971 till 1976 at the GerritRietveld Academy and from 1976 till 1978 at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Amsterdam. Mackaayuses recognizable forms as points of departure: women, men and animals. These themes all have gained archetypes during the span of time. With his work, Mackaay wants to near these archetypes in creating warriors, women, horses, archers and couples in love. All these are made in his own signature style.
